WBHEC-launch

The Home Energy Challenge, run by Big Switch Projects and funded by the NSW Government’s Energy Savings Fund, offered residents in two Wollongong suburbs, Woonona and Bulli, rebates and discounts on energy products and services.

My brief for this year-long assignment was to assist in the the development of the brand positioning and to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan. This included:

  • Developing logos and the look-and-feel of collateral
  • Overseeing the development of, and providing content for, a web site
  • Preparing program and product collateral
  • Providing ongoing marketing advice and support
  • Managing the media liaison for the official launch
  • On an ongoing basis, preparing press releases and advertisements for local media
  • Preparing marketing reports for the NSW Government
Outcomes

The launch event was attended by local TV, radio and press, and the launch received widespread coverage in the local Wollongong media. It was also written about in the Sydney Morning Herald.

Throughout the program Big Switch staff were interviewed by local radio stations, and stories appeared in the local media on an ongoing basis.

Despite changing and changing market conditions, the program was able to meet sales targets, and to achieve its objectives.

The program was featured in a story in the Sydney Morning Herald in March 2008.

Client testimonial

John provided consultancy services on a landmark environmental project I recently managed.  The project met and exceeded its sales targets in a time of challenging market conditions - an outstanding outcome given that this project was the first of its type in Australia.  Without John’s excellent marketing advice, I doubt whether the program would have been so successful.  I found John to be very professional and reliable, and would definitely work with him again.
